Minutes West Norwalk Association Board of Directors Meeting
September 21st, 2003
President Peter O’Hara called the Annual meeting of the West Norwalk Association to order at 4:06 pm. Mayor Knopp was thanked for his attendance as well as representative Larry Cafero and other special guests.
Acceptance of Minutes for September 22nd, 2002: Peter O’Hara presented the minutes from the prior year. Chris Bryan made a motion to accept the minutes of September 22nd, 2002 which was seconded by Bill Krummel. It passed unanimously.
Special thanks were given to board members who help contribute to the associations continued accomplishments in 2003. including Bob Wagman, Gigi Schmidt and Chris Bryan.
State of the Association: During 2002-2003 year the major issues addressed by the association were Prudential’s sale to Dolce International, Velocity Sports, Spinnaker Corporation, and the proposed Northeast Utilities above ground electrical plan. Each was discussed in some detail.
Treasurer’s Report: David Frishkorn presented the years activities. The beginning balance for the 2002-2003 year was $5,840.37 with$1,608.00 added in membership dues and $5,998.24 in total expenses paid; which ended the year with a balance of $1,450.13. Some ideas were made in suggestion to increase membership payments such as re-stamping the newsletters with red ink and a “membership due” notice as was done previously. Please see the financial report for specific details.
It was noted that the association’s sole income is the membership fees and thus needs the support of the neighbors. Bob Wagman made a motion to accept the financial report which was seconded by Penny Hoffman. The motion passed unanimously.
Road and Public Works: Alan Murnick gave an update on the added stop signs in the West Norwalk area over the last year, and on the request of the paving of Fillow St. He also discussed the lengthened timing of the traffic light turning onto Richards Ave. He then laid out the proper channels to go through to request a road or public works change.

Planning & Zoning: Bob Wagman then gave an update on the Master Plan of Norwalk as well as the other issues facing the association in the past year. He then reviewed the course of actions for neighbors to take to stay informed in the West Norwalk planning and zoning.
An update on the Oak Hills restaurant was given with regards to a license that was given for the distribution of alcohol. The proposed restaurant could have 140 inside seats and 70 outside seats. Support was requested from the WNA.

David Frishkorn made a motion to accept the nominations committee slate which was seconded by Penny Hoffman. The motion passed unanimously.

A motion to adjourn was made. It was unanimously approve.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:35 p.m.
Immediately following the meeting the West Norwalk Association slate of directors and positions were presented for approval to the board.
