July 13, 2009
Directors in attendance: Peggy Yff, Ron Paladino, Joel Zaremby, Jim Forcellina, Bob Wagman, Christopher Potts, Candide Valadares, Galen Wells.

Meeting called to order at 7:35 pm in Meeting House.
Old Business
Minutes from June meeting accepted.
Treasurers report, As of May 31, 2009, $7,411.17.
New Business
Annual Meeting approved on 10/18/2009 at Dolce. $1,000 budgeted.
Holiday party approved on 12/10/2009 at Dolce. $1,700 budgeted.
Announcements for annual meeting to be posted after Labor Day in newsletter and throughout area with signs.
Budget Discussion – Treasurer reported that it cost $9,100 to run organization with 117 out of 1300 families contributing. This figure did not include revenue of about $4,000 per year. Also inflated website costs.
Galen Wells suggested more email blasts. Gay Mac Leod and Bob Wagman to handle.
Jim Forcellina recommended setting up street captains to encourage more participation in WNA. Will post sign up sheets at annual meeting.
Joel Zaremby discussed SWRPA traffic study around Roton Middle School.
Bob Wagman would like to invite Fire Chief McCarthy to future meeting to discuss preparedness in West Norwalk.
Items for newsletter include Ponus Ridge Students academic awards and Bob Wagman’s Tale of two cities flooding letter which will also be sent to The Hour by Peggy Yff.
Peggy to ask Mayor Moccia if he is aware that the New Canaan flood survey report was completed on April 30 but sent back for editing. No information has been released to the public.
CNNA poll showed primary concerns of Norwalk residents to be Traffic, Open Space and Flooding. Final results to be put off until their September meeting.
Chris Potts led a discussion of new recycling rules.
Gay Mac Leod reported a new Dogwood tree is on schedule to be planted by the city on the corner of Scribner and Richards Avenues.
