MINUTES OF THE WEST NORWALK ASSOCIATION
December 3, 2013

Board members present: Gay Mac Leod, Linda Forcellina, Ron Paladino, Candide Valadares, Anthony Carrano, Galen Wells and Brian Forschino. Regina Krummel was absent. Rebecca Oresman was a guest.

Co-President Linda Forcellina called the meeting to order at 7:34pm.

Galen Wells motioned to accept the November minutes. Candide Valadares seconded the motion and the minutes were approved.

Treasurer’s Report – There was no presentation of the Treasurer’s Report as Ken D’Arinzo was not in attendance at the meeting.

Oak Hills Update – Anthony Carrano

Both Ken & Anthony attended. Anthony Carrano made a proposal to clear the hiking trails as part of his Boy Scout Eagle project. Anthony indicated that it appears as if the Oak Hills Board prefers to locate the driving range near the current golf cart garage but a formal decision has not yet been made. Anthony reported that there are still a significant number of people who oppose building a driving range at all and also a significant number who still would like the range to be built along the 18th fairway. While both locations have their pros and cons, putting the range along the 18th fairway would be more expensive and would require the removal of approximately 9.5 acres of trees while putting the range near the golf cart garage would require changes to the current layout of the golf course, including shortening of certain holes.

Coalition of Norwalk Neighborhood Associations (“CNNA”) Update – There was no CNNA meeting update as no board members were able to attend the previous CNNA meeting.

Holiday Party Update – Gay Mac Leod

The 2013 Holiday Party will be held in the Dolce Restaurant.

Candide, Galen and Bryce Mac Leod Zaremby agreed to collect party entrance fees. Guests will be given wristbands once the entrance fee is paid. Ken & Anthony agreed to collect 2014 annual dues. Regina Krummel agreed to collect food for the Food Drive. Ron Paladino agreed to handle the raffle.

Gay will make the opening comment and Linda will do the closing. Anthony and Gay will announce the raffles and Ron will sell raffle tickets.

Board members will arrive between 5:00 pm & 5:15 pm to set up.

Introduction of Potential New Board Member – Rebecca Oresman, a neighbor of Board Member Ken D’Arinzo, expressed a desire to join the Board. Rebecca served a 10 year tenure on the Board of the Oak Hills Women’s Golf League. She has experience as the Board Secretary of the League and she also expressed interest in helping with our website and newsletter. Rebecca left the meeting so that the Board members could discuss her application to join the Board. All Board members in attendance voted “yes.” As is usual, Gay will contact Rebecca with the Board’s decision.

Gay adjourned the meeting at 8:27 pm.
