Minutes of the West Norwalk Association

August 1, 2011

Board Members present were: Joel Zaremby, Galen Wells, Linda Forcellina, Bob Wagman, Chris Potts, Regina Krummel, Ron Paladino, and Anthony Carrano.  Gay MacLeod, Ken D’Arinzo, and Bill Krummel were guests.

President, Joel Zaremby, called the meeting to order at 7:40.  He welcomed the Board and visitors to the meeting.

Galen Wells presented the minutes of the May meeting. Linda Forcellina moved to accept the minutes and Bob Wagman seconded the motion.  The minutes were unanimously accepted with the corrections.  Ken’s name was erroneously written as Don

Linda Forcellina presented the Treasurer’s Report.  The association has $4,823.64 in the bank.  The expenses during the period were very minor. We spent $134.62 on Baskets, which is just $12.87 per basket.  Bob Wagman moved to accept the Treasurer’s Report and Chris Potts seconded the motion.  The Treasurer’s Report was unanimously accepted.

Joel then opened a discussion about the Annual Meeting.  It will be held on the top floor and we will have inexpensive (but good) food. Joel will open the meeting.  Linda will speak about Ambassadors and Bob will speak about flooding.  Chris will also speak.  The following politicians will be invited:  Candidates for Mayor, Town Clerk, Council at Large, Council for District E, Board of Education for District E.  Galen will get the emails of Democratic Candidates to Joel.

Joel said that the principal of Fox Run School will speak at the meeting.  Regina suggested that we invite the principal of Ponus Ridge and Brien McMahon as well.  Joel will invite them.

Linda wanted a way to thank all of the businesses that contributed to the baskets.  She moved that we put a list of contributors in the newsletter, post it on the web site and post it at the annual meeting.  Galen seconded the motion and it was passed.  Linda also thanked Gay for all of the hard work putting together the baskets.

Linda saw a painting of the West Norwalk Chapel at the Darien Thrift Shop and note cards that also had the picture of the Chapel.  Bob made a motion to purchase the cards and envelopes for $60 to use as thank you notes and to put in baskets.  Ron Paladino seconded the motion and the motion passed.

Bob presented the report of the nominating committee.  Bob Wagman will go off the Board.  Chris Potts will be president, Peggy Girard will be vice president, Galen Wells will be secretary Gay MacLeod will be assistant secretary and corresponding secretary, and Donna Dolle will be treasurer.  Gay and Ken will be voted on the board at the next meeting.

Chris moved to adjourn the meeting and Bob seconded the motion.  The meeting was adjourned at 8:32.

Respectfully submitted,

Galen Wells, Secretary
