New Business
Focus of meeting was request by Dolce to get variances in order to allow for weddings and other affairs on their grounds. Concerns by visitors focused on traffic issues, property values, noise level, truck deliveries on Little Fox Lane, strangers walking on private property near Dolce, concerns about building cluster homes if variance refused. Some visitors who are also members of Ferndale were opposed to Dolce’s request. They will however have a meeting at Dolce on April 21 which all of us are invited to. The board of directors voted to have our May 5th meeting at Dolce for a presentation. Dolce will pay for mailing to inform West Norwalk residents of the location of the meeting.
Bob Wagman informed all that Congressman Christopher Shays will be at NCC on Saturday from 11:30 to 1 to meet with constituents. Bob requested that all members affected by the river flooding issues attend and bring up the flooding situation to Shays to try to get his support.
Bob also reported that the land trust will remove most of the tree blocking the river on West Cedar Street. The rest will hopefully be removed by the city although no decision has been reached by them.
The Coalition of Norwalk Neighborhood next meets on April 28. The idea is to get their support in dealing with the Dolce issues.
Annual Norwalk tree festival is at Matthews park on May 3. We will also have bulb plantings at our two sponsored sites on May 3 and 4, Time TBA.
Meeting adjourned at 9:15.
