6/2/2024 7:30 PM – Fox Run Cafeteria Board President Anthony Carrano opened the meeting. 12 people in attendance including board members. Our first matter of business was to continue the traffic and speeding discussion, particularly in relation to police response and notable actions taken on behalf of the community. This was a small meeting and thus more of a roundtable discussion. Conversation touch points included: Cops don’t have radar in Norwalk, but they do in Darien. How can we have radar in Norwalk? Two individual speed signs have been placed in West Norwalk. They are not turned on. How do we get help with this? The major action that needs to be taken by all concerned residents is to submit a ticket to individually report traffic and speeding issues via Click and Collect (instructions below). Where are we in the process of receiving an ordinance for the city of Norwalk to obtain speed cameras? Follow up with TMPDD and City Hall needed.. Response from the Police Department was extremely helpful. WNA residents will continue the conversation by reporting incidents as they happen via Click and Collect, making sure that traffic enforcement continues to do their part Second matter of business: Lakota Oaks A resident reported two loud, enormous tractor trailers parked in the Lakota Oaks lot late at night A repeated reminder to all WNA residents to PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL of Lakota Oaks: ALL DOGS MUST BE LEASHED, AND YOU MUST STAY ON THE LOWER TRAILS. Please, be a good neighbor and follow these rules so everyone can continue to enjoy the trails. Third matter of business: Attendance, speaker ideas, and summer social WNA board members will meet June 17th to discuss website updates, structural changes, and other housekeeping items Our summer social will likely be in July Speaker ideas are welcome. Speaker ideas mentioned: local city officials, WNA residents with particular information or a relevant talent to share (for example, Ben and Ken would do a “Market Minute” where they’d go over the current state of real estate in West Norwalk), local gardening experts, and more. Key Action Items: Please submit your traffic complaints to the City of Norwalk via Click and Collect. – Click and Collect is an app that can be downloaded to your phone via this link: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/norwalk-ct-click-request/id1448554138 If you need help with the app on your phone, please bring your phone to our next meeting and the board members can help set it up for you.
