Minutes of the West Norwalk Association Board
April 4, 2016

Board Members Present: Anthony Carrano, Ken D’Arinzo, Brian Forschino & Rob Notley.  Tom Livingston attended as a guest.  Isabelle Hargrove, Kristin Clemens and Ted Stepanoff were absent.

Anthony called the meeting to order at 7:35pm. Anthony motioned to approve the February minutes and Ken seconded.  The Board members present unanimously approved.

Treasurer’s Report – Ken D’Arinzo
The current bank account balance is $4,957.61 with three checks to be deposited.  Stephen needs to provide a bill for his past few months of work.

Oak Hills
There was no update on the status of the driving range.  Opening Day for the golf course is scheduled for Saturday, April 9th at 9:00am.

CNNA
There was no update on the last CNNA meeting.

Spring Clean-Up
Norwalk Citywide clean-up day sponsored by Lowes scheduled for Saturday April 9th.  West Norwalk Association clean-up scheduled for Saturday, May 14th.

Family Fun Day
Not sure if we  should do one this year.  This will be discussed at the May Board Meeting.

Scholarship Update
The Board has not seen any applications yet. The deadline for applying is May 1st.  Applications are to be sent back to Chad Southerland in the Brien McMahon Guidance Office.  Anthony will contact the school to see what applications have been received.

Spring Social Event
Would need to find a way to advertise.  A mailing would cost approx. $1,200.  Dolce has an outdoor patio and Sarah Chessler would be willing to provide entertainment.  Anthony will speak to Dolce to get a firm price although it is estimated at $25 per head with a cash bar.

Norwalk Community College Bridge Project
Dr. Levinson has communicated to the State that the college no longer wants to pursue the bridge project.  Bob Duff sent a Facebook message to Ken saying that he heard through the State the bridge project will not be moving forward.

The college put up rocks to avoid students from parking on the grass.  This seems to be helping.  Some parking spaces will be lost when the theater and student center are built.

Area North of the College
The Habitat for Humanity Project is dead.  The Norwalk Land Trust is now trying to take ownership of the property

Five Mile River – Ken D’Arinzo
The committee is meeting every two weeks.  Alexis Chiasetti has been very involved.  The committee is now aligned with the Maritime Center which will to allow the committee to put out stations to distribute information.  The committee is also considering putting up information tables as the Fox Run Ice Cream Social, the Live Green Festival, the Oyster Festival, and the Rowayton River Festival.

Ken will circulate the minutes from the last few meetings.

Anthony closed the meeting at 8:05pm.
