Spring Clean-Up
The West Norwalk Spring Clean-Up is scheduled for May 9th at Fox Run School starting at 10am. Board members will arrive a little earlier to set up. Ken will reach out to Ron and Candide to see if they are available to help. Anthony will get trash bags and bring the pickers, Brian will bring water bottles and Ken will bring coffee. Anthony will check on gloves, will put out the signs and will bring tables, chairs and the WNA banner. Ken and Brian agreed to man the table at Fox Run. Anthony will call the City and will reach out to the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. He will also order additional WNA t-shirts. Stephen will put a save the date on Facebook and our website. An e-mail blast will be sent out before the event. Anthony will send a letter to the Norwalk Hour.
Family Fun Day Update
Still concern about whether we will have enough people to run the Family Fun Day. Anthony will get approval to use the school and will apply for the permit. The event is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, September 19th. The Board will confirm is anything else is scheduled for that weekend that would cause a conflict.
Annual Meeting
The bylaws require us to have an annual meeting. The Board discussed combining the Annual Meeting with the Family Fun Day. This will be discussed further at the May meeting.
Scholarship
Isabel submitted the paperwork with the school. The application has been posted on Naviance and on our website.
New Business
Ken is working on having Norwalk Police Officer Terry Blake come to the May or June meeting to discuss the car break-ins in West Norwalk. The Board would also like to discuss driving violations. Ken has been discussing the issue with residents of Watering Lane and Morehouse Lane. Once a date is confirmed, Stephen will put a notice on Facebook and our website.
Stephen reviewed his first pass of the WNA membership database. The Board would like to include first names of members and spouses in case we have to contact them. Stephen will add another line for a second person and a drop down for prefix.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:45pm.
